HSCPN Meet & Greet Session 14, November 29, 2025 Location: Leonardo Royal Hotel, Birmingham

The Health and Social Care Providers Network (HSCPN) proudly announces the huge success of our Meet & Greet Session 14 and Christmas Gala held on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in Birmingham. The event brought togethercare providers, industry experts, and leaders for a day of transformative business insights and high-level networking, culminating in a spectacular black-tie celebration.
Despite a slightly delayed start, the event launched at 11 a.m. and quickly built momentum, offering a full day of insightful presentations, meaningful networking, and forward-thinking discussions. The atmosphere remained positive and collaborative throughout, exactly the vision behind the HSCPN meet and greet series.

Key Moments and Speaker Insights

The session opened with warm introductions from MC Danai, supported by event co-ordinator Wilson. After a brief but essential safeguarding overview, Danai updated attendees on the adjusted schedule and welcomed the first speaker of the day: Sam from Blue Hector, specialising in finance for the care sector. Sam delivered a clear and practical session on understanding financial statements, touching on HMRC winding-up petitions, CVAs, and the importance of financial responsibility. His reminders on accurate record-keeping, tax and payroll compliance, safeguarding funds, solvency, and effective delegation resonated strongly with providers seeking sustainability in a challenging sector.

Next, the focus shifted to an important public health conversation as Takudzwa from Prep Protectors took the stage. In recognition of World AIDS Day on 1 December, he shared eye-opening statistics on HIV in African communities and worldwide and emphasised that early treatment allows individuals to live full, healthy lives. His message balanced awareness with hope, prompting thoughtful discussions among attendees.

Mid-session, the event was honoured by the arrival of the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Zafar Iqbal, welcomed with a standing ovation. Danai invited him to share a few words, and his personal background in the care sector deeply resonated with the audience. Having been a carer himself, the Lord Mayor acknowledged the realities faced by providers, carers, and employers, and his presence offered a valuable opportunity for attendees to voice their concerns directly to civic leadership.

This was followed by an inspiring presentation from Godfrey, who spoke on achieving an Outstanding CQC rating. He highlighted the significant gap between “Good” and “Outstanding,” encouraging all providers to aim higher and adopt a mindset of continuous improvement. His focus was not on note-taking but on absorbing the message, promising that slides would be shared with anyone who needed them.

Attendees gained critical knowledge from an all-star lineup of speakers throughout the day, including Shupi Chiwanzahttps://spmlegalcic.co.uk/ , Godfrey Mushanduhttps://carequalitysupport.co.uk/ , Gelly Miller, Dr. Mathew Undengehttp://www.eaglematinsurance.co.uk/ , Vonayi Nyamazana, Louie Werth, Joy Kapesahttps://joyousconsultancy.com/, and Gwinyai Masaka

After an engaging photography session with the Lord Mayor, accompanied by music and informal networking, lunch was served, and the programme continued with diverse and impactful topics. Vonayi delivered a powerful session on breaking the culture of silence around menopause, urging employers and men in particular to understand its impact and to implement supportive workplace policies. Further sessions explored pathways for growth in complex care and insights into sponsor licence applications and compliance.
